The TV program Labranza
visited the EFA laboratories and the camellia collection of the Fruit and
Ornamentals Department of the
EFA.
Pilar
Vela, biotechnology technician at the EFA, accompanied them during their visit
and commented the main research activities carried out on the camellia
field.
At present they are working on the selection of parents for
hybridizing, the registration of Galician cultivars in the International
Camellia Register and on the content and quality of the camellia oil extracted
from several species, used for culinary, cosmetic and medicinal
aims.
