Diferenciación de cepas hipovirulentas y virulentas de Cryphonectria parasitica

ABSTRACT: A survey is being carried out in Galician chestnut groves with the aim to know the real distribution of Cryphonectria parasitica and to detect hypovirulent strains that can be used in the biological control of the fungus. Samples collected were sown in PDAmb. In the molecular biology laboratory a dsRNA extraction protocol was optimized. In this protocol an adequate quantity of dsRNA is obtained from fresh and lyophilized mycelia. Then dsRNA is subjected to electrophoresis on agarose gel, stained in ethidium bromide and visualized in a UV trans-illuminator so as to rapidly differentiate virulent from hypovirulent strains
