Pruebas de patogenicidad de tres especies de Armillaria sobre Pseudotsuga menziesii

Aguín, O.; Pintos, C.; Abelleira, A.; Loureiro, B.; Mansilla, J.P.; Salinero, C.

ABSTRACT:      The use of PCR-RFLP techniques is being used for the identification of Armillaria species from infected plant material submitted to the laboratory. The species appearing more frequently is A. mellea. An isolate from each species A. mellea, A. gallica, A. ostoyae was selected and a pathogeniciity assay of Pseudtosuga menziensii plant was performed. Results showed that A. mellea is a very aggressive pathogen, because 94% of the inoculated plants died in less than five months and the first symptoms of the disease were observed three months after the inoculation. A. gallica and A. ostoyae also caused infection but mortality rates were significantly lower (26%), and both first symptoms and plant death occurred later.
